Easter Parade In this lavish musical, Broadway star Don Hewes' (Fred Astaire) dancing partner (Ann Miller) goes solo, and Don declares that he can make a hit performer out of the next dancer he sees. This turns out to be the inexperienced Hannah (Judy Garland), who bristles as Don tries to make her into his old partner. But as he realizes that he is falling in love with Hannah, Don knows that he must let her grow into her own kind of dancer if he wants her to reach her full potential.

The only thing clear is that the woman (Vanessa Redgrave) in the photo has appeared at his studio -- and wants the pictures he took.

In the meantime, Sandro and Claudia become involved in a romance despite Anna's disappearance, though the relationship suffers from the guilt and tension brought about by the looming mystery.

Meanwhile, the judge's teenage son, Andy (Mickey Rooney), falls for a new teacher after getting dumped by his girlfriend. Both the judge and Andy learn that things aren't what they seem.

Meanwhile, exasperated by Andy's constant flirtations, his girlfriend, Polly (Ann Rutherford), plots to teach Andy a lesson in romance with her sophisticated friend, Sheila (Esther Williams).

Soon Andy's mind turns to business, and he tries to convince his superiors to build a factory in the small town, which would allow him to move back and improve the local economy. Unfortunately, a corrupt businessman (Frank Ferguson) has it in for Andy.
