An Autumn Afternoon In the wake of his wife's death, aging Shuhei Hirayama (Chishu Ryu) struggles to maintain balanced relationships with his three children. He tends to spoil his eldest, the happily married Kazuo (Shinichiro Mikami), who spends more of his father's money than his own. The middle child, 24-year-old Michiko (Shima Iwashita), is looking for love herself, but feels obligated to run Shuhei's household and care for his youngest child, teenaged Koichi (Keiji Sada), who can't connect with his father.

Equinox Flower Loving father Wataru (Shin Saburi) is devastated when his daughter Setsuko (Ineko Arima) upends both familial and social conventions by foregoing arranged marriage and choosing her own spouse. Wataru, who had been scoping out the perfect husband for his daughter, refuses to attend Setsuko's upcoming wedding. It becomes apparent, however, that the ceremony will happen with or without Wataru's approval. So his wife, Kiyoko (Kinuyo Tanaka), tries to ease her husband into accepting the marriage.

The End of Summer A widower who runs a sake brewery, Manbei Kohayagawa (Ganjirô Nakamura) has three daughters. Manbei's middle daughter, Fumiko (Michiyo Aratama), lives with him, and her husband is employed at the brewery. Manbei's eldest daughter, Akiko (Setsuko Hara), resides with her youngest sister, Noriko (Yoko Tsukasa), away from their childhood home. While the girls come to their father for advice, he gets into trouble when they discover that he has rekindled a romance with an old mistress (Chieko Naniwa).

Stingaree In 1876 Australia, debonair outlaw Stingaree (Richard Dix), aided by his sidekick, Howie (Andy Devine), uses his wily charm to take what he wants and harass the ruling class. When he meets composer Julian Kent (Conway Tearle), who's on his way to see Mrs. Clarkson (Mary Boland), a promising new opera singer, Stingaree decides to take Kent's place at the performance. However, he quickly realizes the real talent belongs to Clarkson's servant, Hilda (Irene Dunne), and promises to make her a star.

After clashing with three of the king's musketeers, Athos (Van Heflin), Porthos (Gig Young) and Aramis, he joins them in fighting the forces of corrupt Richelieu (Vincent Price). When Richelieu attempts to undermine the throne and fan the flames of war, D'Artagnan and the musketeers must thwart his plans.
